Unbreak My Heart tour winners!

Thanks to everyone for stopping by my Unbreak My Heart book tour. There was a fabulous response and some awesome comments. It was an overwhelming experience in the beginning but turned out so well. So the winners are listed below. Congratulations, and thank you all very much again.

I leave for New York on Friday for an eleven day New England/Canada (yeah, I'm cruising my own country - the Maritimes actually) so I'll see ya'll when I get back. :) (EDIT - No I'll be back to pimp Ali) And speaking of Ali, I have a link to share. Ali's Intuition - Family of Misfits 2 is on GoodReads now. Official release date September 20. I'll be doing a give-away later in the month for that. Take care.

Unbreak My Heart on the bestseller list at ARE

I don't honestly know if I've had anything on the bestseller list at All Romance Ebooks before because I never checked or maybe didn't know how to check at all. Does that make me dumb or still learning? Lol.

Anyhow, I got an email from ARE saying Unbreak My Heart had made the list of the top 50 bestsellers, and I nearly hit the floor. I believe that I sat and looked at my computer screen in confusion for a few minutes until it finally hit me, and then I was high for the rest of the day.

I don't know if it was the fact it had only been released five days prior or that I'd never had anything on the list before. Maybe it was recognition for the work I'd done since Unbreak literally wrung me out sometimes during the process. Brett was a dear but draining character to write, and I've heard from a few people that they liked the realness of both his grief and his relationship with JT. That makes me feel exceptionally good especially since I worried that I'd gone too far with Brett's pain, too deep and engrained, and I'm sure some people will think that the book was too angsty or depressing. But I think I can handle that if-when- it comes along because I feel really good about what I wrote now.

My book tour ends on Saturday at the lovely S.J. Frost's blog where I'm talking about gods and goddesses in relation to my characters from Unbreak My Heart. I have to say it's been an interesting ride, but I'm pretty much done writing blog posts for a little while, at least ones that I fret and fidget over for days. I appreciate all the comments and entries, and my lovely friends who helped me out by giving me their time, and I'll be posting the winners of the tour on Sunday.

Here's a couple of buy links for Unbreak My Heart, just in case anyone's looking for it. ;) And the link to S.J. Frost's blog. Take care & I'll see you on Sunday. :)

First review for Unbreak My Heart - Yay!

I don't usually post reviews but I was excited to see this one this morning. I had one other review before and it was from a lovely friend that, although, doesn't review every one of my books, I still feel is probably biased. And I love her for it.

This one is from a complete stranger who'd never read me before and it made me speechless. :)

5 out of 5 stars

"OMG!!!
This is one of the most beautiful stories I have read in a long time. Extremely well written. The story made me laugh and cry.
Wonderful!!!"

It was a nice way to start the day, and it makes all the wrung-out hell Brett put me through worth it. :D

Hope you're all enjoying the book tour. Still a few days to go. :) (links updated)

Release Day! Unbreak My Heart is live!!

Unbreak My Heart is out today! Colour me excited!

I've waited and been scared to death of this day, but I'm also so glad to finally have it released. My book tour will have eleven posts up in the span of ten days so I'm just going to make this short and sweet, then encourage you to visit the blogs of my lovely friends. ;)

I think there's something for everyone in the posts I've already done. On Joyfully Jay I talked about tropes, or more specifically, hurt/comfort which is a big element in my story. On Thorny, not prickly it was about my love for cowboys and a little about the city i live in - Calgary. Yesterday I shared ten things about the writing of Unbreak Your Heart with Tara Lain. For example, Brett Taylor was inspired by Christian Kane - what a shock right? Lol. Next up is Babes in Boyland tomorrow where I'll be doing an interview with the lovely Piper Vaught on my book.

"Unbreak My Heart" Book Tour Masterpost

With the release date for Unbreak My Heart less than a week away, I thought it was time to post the links for my book tour. It starts August 22.

I've been fortunate in managing to rope enlist the help of and borrow some space from some wonderful bloggers. I appreciate the support and I hope you will drop by to take a look at what I've worked my ass off to post posted. It wasn't a simple task, trying to figure out what and where to post without being too redundant, boring, or duplicating. Hopefully I managed to do that in at least a few of them. ;)

Being that this is the masterpost for the tour, I'd be forever grateful if you'd pass it along to a friend. I'm not trying to pimp myself out or anything - okay, yeah, maybe I am but there's prizes (does make it less pimpish? lol) Also, if you'd like to display my tour banner with this link attached, much gratitude and pretty boys will come your way. :D

New cover, LHNB story link & give-away!

My Love Has No Boundaries story, Las Palabras de Amor, has been posted in the GoodReads M/M Romance group. Here's the blurb:

"I want you to meet my son…Lucas."

Only eight little words—but with so much impact. Two years ago, Lucas joined the Peace Corps so he'd never have to hear those words. He left so Danilo would be free to start the next phase of his life, and so Lucas could find a fresh perspective on his own.

But now that he's back in town, ready to kick-start his new life, will those eight simple words send Lucas reeling back into the past or smiling hopefully into the future?

It's a free read and you can read it on the group itself or download it in various formats.
Read online               Download              GoodReads

And I'm very happy to finally be able to share the cover for Ali's Intuition - the second book in my Family of Misfits. Release date is September 20 from MLR Press.

I'm hoping to have another post up tomorrow with the links for my book tour for Unbreak My Heart. I'll be making ten stops, plus one on here as well. A give-away is already going on at Stumbling Over Chaos. Go take a look. :)  Unbreak My Heart Give-away

Book tours scare the crap out of me, but I'm doing one anyhow.

Yeah, that's right. I'm scared of book tours or blog tours or whatever you want to call them. I've never done one to promote any of my books before, at least not anything bigger than asking a friend or two to do a give-away for me. So again, yeah…scared.

But I nevertheless, I am doing one at the end of the month for the release of Unbreak My Heart on August 25. Wow, can't believe how quickly that dates has crept up on me.

Anyhow, I'm scheduling a few blogs (probably about 9 days worth actually), and will more than likely set the whole thing up with Rafflecopter. Tentative dates at the moment are August 22-31, and I have a mixture of smaller and bigger blogs that are letting me stop by to introduce Brett and JT, and offer up a give-away.  :)

Sexy Saturday - the long-haired edition

I readily admit to anyone who wants to know that I'm a total rockstar groupie - and my fave genre of rockstar is generally the long-haired variety. That's not to say I don't love other less-hairy men of music, but being a girl of the 80's I'm still damn happy to indulge in some hair-band goodness.
That being said, this is definitely not just a rockstar post. I was merely stating how
I became to be addicted to men with long hair - curl, straight - it's all good.
Happy Saturday.
(Edit - dayum, I have to do this again soon)

I'm pleased to announce I am the first stop on the lovely Dakota Trace's Xenres Sins book tour for her new release, Ruthless.

Please welcome Dakota and her um...friend...muse...other personality (lol), and make sure you enter the give-away at the bottom.
Enjoy.

*psstt, Dakota - you're on - psstt, Dakota - where are you?*

Ali's Intuition has a release date. Yay!

I signed my contract for Ali's Intuition today, and yay! I have a release date.

September 20, 2013

It's just under a month after Unbreak My Heart's release on August 25 & just in time for GRL. I'm very happy about that.

"Matching spirit mates has always been as easy for fate as sinking an arrow in a heart-shaped target is for cupid--until a whirlwind named Ali steps up to the plate, & might be just the witch to break fate's stellar track record."

LHNB story excerpt & pretty pics, of course

My free "Love Has No Boundaries" story for the M/m Romance Group hasn't been posted yet but I thought I'd  share a small excerpt while I wait. Once it's posted, it'll be available in different formats, so I'll keep ya'll posted in case you're interested. :)

As always, there will be gratuitous pics at the end of this post, and my next actual post will be a picture post since I haven't done one in a while. Stay tuned. (EDIT - dang it, as usual the bottom of this post has turned into a Dean/Aidan extravaganza - oops)

<-- This is the original picture posted with the letter/pic prompt,

The title I chose is "Las Palabras de Amor" which translates to Words of Love - and is also the name of a rock ballad by Queen from 1982. It fits the story, and trust me, this was one of the hardest stories I've written before. There were a few aspects I tweaked from the letter but the main issue was one I struggled with at first.

The "letter" that came with the pic involved cheating which I'd never written about before, and had never intended on writing. I had to sit down and figure out a way to write it that didn't offend myself, let alone anyone else. It's not that I don't read those stories, but they aren't my preference in a romance, and definitely not my preference to write. I hope I did the story, and Danilo & Lucas justice.

Here's the excerpt and the lovely cover by M.L. Rhodes. :)  And if you have a sec, leave a comment and tell me whether you have a preference in whether you read stories with infidelity or not. Cheers.

I suck at blogging....AKA, what K-lee's been up to

That just about sums it up - do some damn blogging, woman...I mean...hi, how's everyone doing?

Yeah, I've proved time and time again that I suck at blogging and updating. But here I am with just a short update about what I have coming up and out. ;)

My Cowboy Brett story that I've talked about before was accepted by Amber Quill (yah) and has an ebook release date of August 25 - with a print date sometime in September. I'm happy it will be out in time for me to take a few copies to GRL. It's about 90,000 words so that's a fair size for me - times that by two and you'll know what I've been working on for the last few months. (more about that after)

So I wanted to show off my shiny new cover by the wonderful Trace Edward Zaber. I picked out the cover model and I just love him. So let me introduce you to Cowboy Brett who now has a real title - "Unbreak My Heart" (cue singing the song from the 90's)

It's pretty, right? (you have to look down obviously) -  I have a tagline too...

"Is the love and patience of a city kid enough to breathe life back into a rancher who's living in his own world of pain--and unbreak his heart?"

I've already posted an excerpt introducing Brett (sort of) so here's one with my other main character - JT. (unedited, by the way)

Hop Against Homophobia & Transphobia 1 - CockyBoys are in the house

Welcome to the Hop Against Homophobia and Transphobia. As one of the organizers I want to thank you for taking the time to check out all the wonderful posts that will be popping up over the next ten days. I believe the best way to abolish the need to even have an International Day Against Homophobia, is to keep talking about it and sharing experiences both good and bad. The more that's out there, the more people become aware, and hopefully, start to understand.

I will have two posts from May 17-27. They are part one and two of an interview I did with three amazing men. I hope you'll take the time to read what their individual thoughts are on growing up gay, homophobia in today's society, running a successful business, and living together in a loving relationship of three.

Now let me introduce them to you. Please welcome Jake Jaxson, R.J. Sebastian, and Benny Morecock to my Hop post. Have a look at their bios then we'll start the interview. (and yes, I did color-code each of them – OCD at its finest) Oh, and leave a comment to be included in my draw—more information about my giveaway and donations being made to the Trevor Project is at the end of this post.) Read on, people.

~*~*~*~

Jake Jaxson ~ Filmmaker, artist, collector, hopeless romantic, and insatiable flirt. He lives in New York with his two loves and collaborators, R.J. Sebastian and Benny Morecock, & their four canine gaybies ~ Raif, Sebastian, Bailey & Jackson. Jake is also the owner/director of CockyBoys.

Benny Morecock ~ Jack-of-all-trades at CockyBoys. I'm the brains of the operation, Jake is the vision. On the side I collect hobbies and enjoy teaching myself random skills that may or may not come in handy during the second coming of Christ.

R.J. Sebastian ~ Director of photography for most of the CockyBoys updates, as well as the primary photographer for most of the shoots on the website. Jake Jaxson handed him a camera and encouraged me to start shooting the behind the scenes candid shots of the models. From there, RJ moved his way up to primary photographer, and has changed the look and feel of the CockyBoys websites images. RJ wants to transform the way pornographic photos are taken and viewed, and feels that you can shoot explicit images that can also live as art and live on their own. R.J. is also a part-time model and actor.

K-lee's May update & pretties

I've been so negligent in updating this...in updating anything really. I know I don't have a lot of followers, but the few I do have deserve better than these random posts that can run anywhere from incoherent babble to depressing-as-hell thoughts. Even if I just post pretty pics, it would be better than dead air, right?  :)

Moving on - the Hop Against Homophobia and Transphobia is almost upon us - 2 days to be exact or 1 depending where you are. I'll be doing at least 3 posts during that time and I have some special guests that I hope you'll drop by to say hi to - three very special and lovely men to be exact. But seriously, these guys have some very inspirational and thought-provoking things to say. And be sure to check out the other  >170 participants, too. Hey, you've got 10 days to do it this year. Hop on, people.  :)

Struggling with myself

I'm struggling a little at the moment; could be the deadlines I've put myself under or the changing of doctors & finding of a psychologist (1st appointment today), could be my immobility that I'm tired to death w dealing w or the rapid changing of the weather that makes my head spin and ache. I guess it could be a lot of things that are causing the low mood, the anxiety, insecurity & lack of self-confidence and motivation.

Every year I say if I can only get past March or even April, things will get better but this year isn't proving that way. Last year I felt like a writer, but right now I feel like anything but, and I wonder if I'll ever publish a damn thing again.

K-lee Update & some dwarves, of course

I swear I've been writing, but obviously I've not been blogging. And just so you know, that saying over there <---- is so damn true. I've tried to explain it to a couple people before, people who don't write, and they just didn't get it. It's a hard thing to explain really.

But I swear I always have a character talking in my head or a scene playing out for no damn reason. I've talked to other writers about it and it's a relief to know it's not just me and my strange brain.

Way to Your Heart WINNERS!

Thanks to everyone who stopped by to comment on my Way To Your Heart posts. Bob the Random Number Generator has selected 5 winners.

I said I was offering $20 in ebucks from ARE but they don't do $20, so I'm doing two $15s instead (hence the 5 winners)

Way To Your Heart post #2 - Concert crazy

Less Than Three Press is turning four years old! To commemorate the anniversary, we're having a bloghop called "The Way to Your Heart" from April 1-14.  Each blogger's "assignment" is to talk about the things that mean the most to them, things that make their hearts soar or even soar, in a good way of course.

The masterpost with all the awesome participants is HERE IT IS AT LT3  and many are offering shiny giveaways. So sit back and read what makes my heart do little flip-flops then go check out all the others.

~*~*~*~

This is my second post for the anniversary. I'll be giving away one $20 gift certificate to All Romance Ebooks, plus ebooks from my backlist. If I do three posts that would mean I give away the gift certificate plus 2 books, four posts would be the gift certificate plus 3 books - you get the idea. Every time you comment on a post, your name will go in the overall bucket so comment on two posts = two chances, three posts = three chances - again, I think you get the picture. Now on to the good bits. (beware - you will have to view a couple old pictures of me :P)

If you've ever read my blog before or just looked at the pretty pictures I post, you'll know I'm a little prone to obsession. To be honest, I think obsession makes me happy, lol, because it occupies a mind so filled with hurrying thoughts and ideas and characters and plots and scenes that there's little room for any coherence most of the time. Obsession makes me take time out from the whirring to seek out pretty pictures or stories about whatever happens to be my heart's delight at the time. This may seem like it would add to the convoluted nature of my brain, and in some ways, it does, but in others it stops the madness and makes me a little clearer. It's very hard to define so I'll stop trying.

Aidan Turner Poem-Porn Post

So there's no actual porn here - just so you know. ;) But have a listen and look at these video clips from the Desperate Romantics series (BBC, 2009) starring Aidan Turner as Dante Gabriel Rossetti.

I was actually searching around for some clips of Aidan doing interviews so I could find some of his speech patterns and words that he used (whispers *for my RPS series) and came across these.

To be perfectly honest, I like poetry, and I like this era of poetry as well as stuff like Poe and even some Shakespeare. There's just something about the language that tweaks my brain and makes it calm. Watching these clips did just that except... as pretty as the words are, seeing Aidan recite them and stare longingly into the camera kind of took the calm away and replaced it with OMFG sensual sexiness.

Author M. Raiya Blog Tour Interview

My author guest this week is M. Raiya. M. is on a blog tour to promote her book "Silver Pearl" from Less Than Three Press. Welcome to Chaos, M.

Thanks! I feel right at home here. Chaos could be my middle name. And I love The Hobbit, dwarves, kilts, and dwarves in kilts!

I think I love you already. <3

1.     I always start with some basic information questions so you can tell us a little about yourself. Where are you from? How long have you been writing? What do you do for fun? Go ahead and tell us everything.

Author Talya Andor Blog Tour Interview

My author guest this week is Talya Andor. Talya is on a blog tour to promote her book "A Cut Above The Rest" from Less Than Three Press. Welcome to Chaos, Talya.

1.     I'll start with some basic information questions so you can tell us a little about yourself. Where are you from? How long have you been writing? What do you do for fun? Go ahead and tell us everything.

I'm from the Midwest, though the Pacific Northwest has become home to me, and I've been writing since I was about eleven years old. I haven't stopped ever since, though I've improved considerably over the years through practice and study!

Musical interlude - Great Big Sea

Off to see my second Great Big Sea concert in two nights so I thought I'd share some of their music. They're touring for their 20th anniversary - awesome. Great Canadian Newfy band whose style is hard to define - kitchen party music, jigs, celtic, sea-faring, pop, rock, folk - you name it they've got it. They're high energy and have the best acoustic sound, and when they sing a cappella, they are phenomenal.

Having been to a lot of concerts in my life, they're one of the best bang for your buck gigs - never have an opening band and they sing two one hour sets with a short intermission in between. They are addictive and infectious and live they're a big old comedy show as well as being a must-stand-have-to-dance party. I stood the entire show with the damn crutches last night and I'll do it again tonight - my knee is not thanking me for last night and I'm sure by tomorrow, it won't be talking to me at all (which might be a good thing).

You might recognize Alan Doyle (singer with the long flowing brown hair lol) as Russell Crowe's bff. He's been in Robin Hood, Republic of Doyle (with Russell too) and is in a couple of new Russell movies coming up. Busy guy and one of the best showmen I've ever seen since I have seen him with his solo stuff too. Anyhow, I have to get ready so here's a couple videos spanning the 20 years of Great Big Sea.

In memoriam of William Neale

In Memoriam of
William Neale
who passed away
March 13, 2012

*****

This was supposed to be posted yesterday but I just didn't know what to say.
I found this poem so I'm going to post this instead.

*****

Someone so dearly loved
So popular with his friends
We should not cry forever,
For this is not the end.

His memory lives amongst us,
Times we both laughed and cried,
I cannot bare to lose him,
But one day, we all must die

I hear his voice within me,
and his funny little laugh
So many things remind me;
Of times that are now gone past.

I knew of no-one who hated him,
He was the apple of every eye
Any conflicts, we all once had
are now by the by.

K-lee Update, beautiful dwarf drawings & prompt table

I've finished my first prompt story in the Hobbit fandom. It's a Kili/Fili - I know, how shocking, right? The prompt I used was "sick" and the story's about 3,200 words - more than I'd planned but those dwarfs can be very bossy when they want to.

Most of the words are pretty angsty and hurt-comforty which is why I picked this table. I like to injure then fix. ;) I haven't posted it yet but will do that to LiveJournal, FanFicion.net and Archive of Our Own that I just registered for.

I've been a little more productive on some of my other stories since I started a couple of dwarf-fics. I think it's fuelling my muse and clearing my head a bit. Plus, I really enjoy writing them. One or more of the prompts will be Thorin/Kili or Thorin/Fili but I'm just not sure which one - angsty though I'm sure. As usual, I'm struggling with a title, and despite it "only" being fan fiction, that sort of thing still matters to me. I have some Aidan/Dean in my head that just won't go away either. Bad K-lee - RPS is bad even though you've read it before. ;) (PS I'm sharing some dwarf-kilt drawings that I'm in love with and stick Scottish-dwarf plot bunnies in my head - click the pics for bigger images)

Author A.F. Henley Blog Tour Interview

Please welcome A.F. Henley to my blog today. A.F. is currently trekking along on a blog tour to promote a book from Less Than Three Press called Honour. Welcome to Chaos, A.F.

Thanks for having me!  I'm thrilled to be here. Love the name of the blog by the way. I can only hope it's indicative of the personality behind it. I do love me some Chaos in life.

1.     I'll start with some basic information so you can tell us a little about yourself. Where are you from? How long have you been writing? What do you do for fun? Go ahead and tell us everything.

I was born in B.C. but have considered Ontario, Canada home for most my life. From April to November I love it with every ounce of my person. From December to March however ... let's just say that I begin wondering how much greener the grass in Tennessee really is. Or if Texans really do wear cowboy hats while they do their grocery shopping. I'm not much of a winter person.

Dwarf-aholic nonsense and a K-lee update

Greetings from the land of hermits and cave-dwellers. Some of this might just be me repeating myself and not having the brain power to remember or even check. I have indeed been using my hermiting (not a word) skills to keep myself shut away in my cave. January and February are months where my clinical depression clouds my brain with the added bonus of having my borderline personality disorder seal the deal and keep my mind and body in complete chaos. In other words, things have not been good but since February is quickly passing, I'm hoping for a new start yet again. (this post is sort of a rehashing of the one I did on LiveJournal today - just so you know.

2gwchaqFebruary is also my birthday month which has never had any appeal to me but thanks to those of you who wished me well on that day where I grow nothing but older. I experienced a bout of writers' block in December, January and February and it's just been over the past week that I've been able to get some of the ranting and raving characters and plots out of my head and onto the page. Not being able to write feeds into the depression since that's generally my outlet to clear myself of some of the emotion that the borderline sees fit to keep spinning 'round my head at all times. (OH BY THE WAY - THAT DUDE ON THE RIGHT ---> YOU'LL FIND OUT ABOUT HIM LATER)

Isabella Carter blog tour is stopping here!

Please welcome a friend and fellow Less Than Three author, Isabella Carter, to my blog. She's in the midst of a blog tour and this is her stop for today. Isabella is an occasional knitter and she loves Disney, gaming and happy endings. AND she's a real sweetheart. I owe her a Sandy Relief story and she hasn't nagged me about it at all. Back to business, Isabella is touring to promote her new book, A Shadow of a Dream, and she's also doing a giveaway on her blog. All the info is at the end of this post. So have a read and make Isabella feel welcome.

One of the important groups in Shadow of a Dream is the Order of Watchers, the hunters of witches, demons, and all other monsters that go bump in the night. The Order is supposed to be the great good protecting the world from the tyranny of magic, but as with any institution run by humans, it is rife with corrupts and those looking to serve their own interests. There is a lot of good in the order, the problem is that it's eclipsed by the pride and greed of those seeking fame or bloody vengeance

The Misty Mountains (or) Thorin's Song from Hobbit Trailer

Love this so much. One of my fave parts of the movie.

New freebie, upcoming author visit, Christian Kane & dwarfs.

Okay, so TRASHCAT really has nothing to do with this post except I felt just like him when I woke up this morning (still do). I won't go into it because I still don't have all the facts or know what's right and what's wrong. I will say I may not be attending GRL this year due to the unamused thing but nothing is certain, and I'm going by my gut-reaction right now more than anything else.

Moving on - I've failed my blog again. My randomness obviously stopped and so did my posts. I blame it on the depression and lack of motivation to do anything BUT I did do something. I decided last week that I needed to do a Valentine's story and my chosen pairing were Devon and Scott from Lazy Sundays. I think they needed a better happy ending plus I'll be making them into a full-length novel with both stories included and continued later in the year. Anyhow Lazy Valentines is now written, beta-ed, formatting and uploaded. The fabulous Megan Derr made me the cover and I found a pic of the same guys on the Lazy Sundays one. :) It's sweet and sugary just like the story. Not a long of angst in this one, people. But it is Valentines Day after all.

Stealing the Dragon blog tour - Mell Eight

I'm pleased to welcome fellow Less Than Three Press author, Mell Eight, as she makes a stop on my blog during her "Stealing the Dragon" blog tour.  She's doing a giveaway on her blog, all information posted at the bottom of this page. Enjoy.

Dragons have been a fascination of mine for a very long time.  It has always enthralled me that the same mythos crossed the globe and then became unique to each culture and society the dragons encountered.  I've researched and learned as much as I could and that time and effort has gone directly into every dragon I've ever written about.  The dragons in my Dragon's Hoard Series are a combination of many different types of dragons from across the world.  I tried my hardest as an author to make my dragons unique while still honoring the history and power that generations before me have put into the dragons of myth.

Music Wednesday - Kane/Carlson/Smith/Nutter

This was supposed to be for Music Monday then Tune Tuesday but instead it's for today, just plain old Hump Wednesday. You'll know one of the artists (at least from my blog) but maybe not the others, so have a listen. I get razzed at home for my *coughs* obsessions but being interested in one artist or actor or whatever can also broaden the mind to others that you wouldn't have even knew existed without the initial obsession. That's what I tell myself anyhow. ;)

Also, I have a special guest on my blog on Friday - Mell Eight from Less Than Three Press will be making a stop on her blog tour to talk about dragons so make sure you pop by. So here we go - Music Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Enjoy. (PS Damn blogger was being difficult in embedding these vids - took me two days - ugh)

Stuck in the grey & giveaway winners

On the heels of a couple almost-normal days where faking it inline was mildly possible, the last few have been covered in a thick layer of grey. It's not even a translucent shadow where I can at least tumble a few words onto a page that are homelessly, hopelessly, frustratingly rattling around my brain. It's thick and bold and has but one purpose, to suck the life out of me, and unfortunately its succeeding.

Random #6 - Anxiety

Today's random subject is anxiety, mainly because I'm anxious as hell right now. I have panic attacks and generalized anxiety disorder which unfortunately means that most times I have no idea why I feel like I'm going to crawl out of my skin.

Nothing is different about my day today yet my heart is pounding hard enough for me to feel it in my ears. My body feels twitchy on the inside more than the outside. I'm a little disoriented and shaky. To put it bluntly, I'm having a bad day.

New Release & Giveaway - In The Moment

I have a new release out today and I've been very slack about promoting it mostly due to the January funk I'm in. Regardless of that, I'm proud of my little story so here's some info.

It's a short/novella (12,000 words) based on the theme of Kiss Me at Midnight. I'm not really sure what that meant to anyone else but to me it meant starting fresh and the beginning of a new year.

In The Moment is about two mildly opposite but completely in love men named Joey and Giles. They've been through some major trials and turmoils over the past year and all they want is a little good news for a change. The story revolves completely around the title as Joey and Giles struggle to clear their minds of the past and the future and remain in the moment. They find a special way to assure each other that not matter what the future brings, they'll always be facing it together.

I like both Joey and Giles for different reasons, and for one main one - they're very committed to their commitment. I hope you like them too. I'm offering up an ebook copy to one commenter so leave your name and email address. Contest will be open from January 23-27 then I'll have my random generator, Bob, select a winner.

I'll leave you with the synopsis, a short excerpt and a buying link for In The Moment. Thanks for dropping by. :)

Random stuff 4 - The Outsiders ("stay gold")

"According to Ponyboy, there are two kinds of people in the world: greasers and socs. A soc (short for "social") has money, can get away with just about anything, and has an attitude longer than a limousine. A greaser, on the other hand, always lives on the outside and needs to watch his back. Ponyboy is a greaser, and he's always been proud of it, even willing to rumble against a gang of socs for the sake of his fellow greasers--until one terrible night when his friend Johnny kills a soc. The murder gets under Ponyboy's skin, causing his bifurcated world to crumble and teaching him that pain feels the same whether a soc or a greaser."
